今天要聽的是Big Thief的UFOF。

從歌詞看起來曲名應該是指UFO Friend的概念吧！

一些感覺有點像是塞在超重的Reverb之中再倒過來放的音色，跟吉他一直穩定地撥出一些高音，讓歌曲從頭到尾都有一種飄忽的神秘感。而主唱的旋律有一種像是飄在伴奏之上的感覺，不知道為什麼讓人聯想到印度音樂。

不過間奏的神秘音色稍微有些多了，讓我有點出戲。

其實通常我不太會受到這種有點民謠風格的曲子吸引，不過我滿喜歡這首歌的。

From the lyric, I guess, it’s about UFO friend.

Some sounds that sounds like going through heavy reverb and reversed, plus the consistent guitar high arpeggios, make this song a mysterious floating feel. The melody of the vocal sounds like drifting above the backing, somehow makes me think of Indian music.

Although, I usually won’t be attracted by music with folk flavors, I like this one.

Major Pentatonic& Sequence (in John Mayer - Love on the Weekend)

在Love on the Weekend中，Intro的Riff基本上是圍繞著大調五聲音階的模進應用。我們先來看一下，他在這裡所使用的G大調五聲音階G型！

常見的模進會是順著演奏的方向前進，像是常見的Group of 4，用數字來想就是1235、2356、3561...等，以此類推。

但是這裡用的是逆推回去的Group of 2，個人其實很喜歡這中反向的模進，聽起來很有趣。用數字來想就是16、21、32...等，而Riff中使用的是逆行的狀況所以是61、56、35...等。

下次也在你的演奏中加入這種概念試試看吧！

In the intro riff of Love on the Weekend, it’s based on the G major pentatonic in the open position (G shpae).  

While most of the sequence follow the way you are up to, like group of 4 is like 1235, 2356, 3561…etc.

The sequence used here is a reversed group of 2, which is like 16, 21, 32…etc. Though he used in when goes down, like 61, 56, 35…etc.

這首歌吉他的部分在歌曲中，大致可以聽到電吉他的Riff跟琶音，另外是一把刷和弦的木吉他。由於木吉他的刷弦跟電吉他的琶音，聽起來是可以比較有彈性地演奏，所以就請跟著譜例附上的和弦演奏即可，在接下來的影片中，將會處理的是Intro跟Bridge，而Interlude跟Intro基本上差不多，就參考Intro使用吧！

另外關於Intro的riff，我發現John Mayer在演唱會時除了高音的樂句之外，右手拇指還會撥弄低音弦，但由於在錄音室版本中，我實在聽不太出來，因此我接下來演奏也只會有高音的樂句。

You can hear the main riff and arpeggio from electric guitar, and the strumming form acoustic guitar. Since the strum and arpeggio part is more flexible, I will focus on the main riff and bridge part.

Also, about the main riff. I found that John Mayer struck the lower strings a couple times while playing the riff, but I can hardly hear it from the studio version, so I am not going to play it in the video.
